Seal replacement from a worn sample
No drawing, no part number, and the original maker is long gone? Send us the old seal. We measure it, identify the profile and material, and have a replacement CNC-machined to match, without mould or tooling costs.
From old seal to new part
1. Register your sample
Fill in the short Send a sample form. We email you a reference number and the shipping address in California or New York.
2. Ship it to us
Pack the seal with the reference written on the outside. A worn or broken seal is fine. Send every piece you have.
3. We measure and identify it
The sample gets measured, the profile identified and a material recommended for your application. If anything is unclear, we ask before quoting.
4. Quote, approve, machine
You get pricing and lead time by email. Once you approve, the seals are CNC-machined and shipped with tracking. Your specs stay on file for reorders.
What to send with the seal
- Where it sits: rod, piston, wiper, static or rotary
- The medium: hydraulic oil, water, air, food product, chemicals
- Operating pressure, temperature and speed, if known
- Groove or housing dimensions, if you can measure them
- Photos of the seal installed, if you have them
Good to know
- A worn seal has lost some of its original size. Groove dimensions help us get the replacement exactly right.
- If the seal is destroyed, the groove dimensions alone are often enough. See seals for obsolete cylinders.
- Can't ship the part? Start with photos and dimensions in the quote form.

Common questions
How do I send you a sample?
Use the Send a sample form. We'll email you a reference number and the shipping address in California or New York. Write the reference on the package.
Can you work from a broken or badly worn seal?
Yes. Send every piece you have. If the seal is too damaged to measure, the groove or housing dimensions plus the medium and pressure are usually enough to design the replacement.
Can you match the original material?
We identify the material family and recommend a grade for your application from 50 grades, including polyurethanes, PTFE compounds, rubbers and engineering plastics. Often the replacement can be in a better material than the original.
What is the minimum order?
It depends on the seal, but it's usually around 20 pieces. We'll confirm the minimum in your quote. There's no mould or tooling cost.
Do I get my sample back?
Tell us when you register the sample if you need it returned, and we'll arrange it.
