Metal & X-ray detectable PU
95 Shore A · -20 / +90 °C · Blue
FDADETECTABLE
Abrasion resistance and mechanical strength. Polyurethane is the most widely used material for hydraulic seals.
Quote this grade →Food and beverage equipment needs food-contact compliant materials, and many plants also require seals that metal and X-ray detectors can find. We supply custom CNC-machined detectable seals in four FDA grades, made by our specialist production partner.
All 4 grades are FDA grades and are designed to be found by metal and X-ray detectors. Choose by temperature, cleaning medium and the fluid being sealed.

FDADETECTABLE
High temperatures and many chemicals, with low gas permeability.

FDADETECTABLE
Hot water, steam and many acids and alkalis: the preferred choice for food and beverage equipment. Low resistance to oils.

FDADETECTABLE
Acids, bases, alcohols and fuels, with low friction for high speeds. Not elastic, so usually paired with an energizer.

Send us your current seal or drawing and the operating conditions. We'll suggest the right grade.
Four base materials: Metal & X-ray detectable PU (BP-PU95-06, 95 Shore A, -20 to +90 °C); Metal & X-ray detectable FKM (BP-FK80-01, 80 Shore A, -30 to +200 °C); Metal & X-ray detectable EPDM (BP-EP80-01, 80 Shore A, -50 to +135 °C); Metal & X-ray detectable PTFE (BP-PT-37, 60 Shore D, -200 to +260 °C). All four are FDA grades.
EPDM is the rubber for hot water and steam (BP-EP80-01, up to +135 °C). For higher temperatures, FKM (BP-FK80-01, up to +200 °C) and PTFE (BP-PT-37, up to +260 °C) are options. Tell us your cleaning process and we'll recommend one.
Yes. Send a drawing or a sample and the operating conditions, and we'll quote the detectable equivalent.
It depends on the seal, but it's usually around 20 pieces. Tell us what you need and we'll confirm the minimum in your quote. Seals are CNC-machined from billet stock, so there's no mould or tooling cost.
